Inner Peace
A solo-Vortox script in which the Zenomancer is the primary source of true information.
Townsfolk receive false information that's only a little bit helpful: those who receive Zenomancer quests can gain true information that will combine with false information to help town solve the game.

Notes
I'm still wrapping my head around the Zenomancer, and Inner Peace is my attempt at engaging with it. I wanted a landscape where there is lots of information regardless of what's going on with the Zenomancer, but the good team are broadly at a disadvantage, and need to complete quests to learn something more tangible.
When running the script, think of how useful a player's information is when giving out quests. A Librarian who's learned two players as the Drunk probably doesn't need a quest: learning two non-Drunks is pretty strong on this script, as you're learning two players whose information objectively MUST be false. A Clockmaker who falsely learns a 5, however, probably isn't gaining much at all from their ability, and is a great candidate for a quest.
I think it's fun if Zenomancer information is related to a player's Townsfolk ability: a High Priestess who has learned 3 players it's not especially helpful to talk to might learn something cool and objectively true that connects those three players. An Amnesiac who completes a quest might learn a clue to what their ability does. This isn't necessary, though, and it's harder to do with some characters than others.
Fun interactions
King (& Choirboy)The King is weird on this script, but I hope in a fun way. First off: the Vortox doesn't know who you are! They might know one player who's not the King, or they might just learn themselves. Learning not-in-play characters can be just as strong as learning in-play characters, so the King will seldom need a quest to get value out of their ability - however, note that the Choirboy is a little trickier than usual. Learning one player who isn't the Vortox can be really powerful late game, but early game (and especially if a Scarlet Woman is still alive) it doesn't mean much at all. If you're worried that learning one non-Demon player won't be exciting enough, you can always give a Choirboy the quest, "Get the Demon to kill the King while you're still alive." |

PrincessI'm hopeful that Princess will work really well with the Zenomancer. Being a Princess and failing to execute your target absolutely sucks, and I've seen disappointed Princesses retreat from the game a little. Giving a sad Princess something to do is I think a super fun option, and is an interaction I was really keen to explore. The first executee getting a quest can also be fun - "thanks for taking one for the team, here's something fun you can do." |

SnitchI think it's fine for Outsiders to get quests, and I think the Snitch is one of the more interesting Outsiders to receive one. The thing to consider with a Snitch who receives a Zenomancer quest is that you'll be giving an Outsider whose ability isn't that detrimental to town a piece of objectively true info, so I think it could be fun to give an Outsider an actively obstructive quest. "Be mad as the Boomdandy from now until final 3," or something like that. |

BoomdandyI like Boomdandy a lot on a solo-Vortox script: volunteering for a day one execution isn't hugely suspicious, and players' information will be false. The Princess nominating the Boomdandy is ultra-tasty - you nominate the Boomdandy, and go down to final 3. If town chooses not to kill anyone on the Boomdandy explosion... the demon doesn't kill, and you get a day 2! There are a lot of You Start Knowing characters on this script for Boomdandy reasons as well as Princess reasons. |

House rules or clarifications
- It's usually most fun to rule that the Amnesiac's "hot or cold" guesses aren't affected by the Vortox.
- I also recommend giving true Minion & Demon information when the Poppy Grower dies.
